Goodal approached us with a unique challenge: bring the story behind their Vitamin C Eye Patches to life through packaging. Rather than creating a traditional product mailer, I developed a concept that transformed the unboxing experience into a narrative journey, allowing recipients to discover the product through storytelling rather than product claims alone.
The mailer was designed as a custom book, inviting recipients to physically turn pages and follow the journey of the product from ingredient sourcing to final formulation. The book format was intentionally selected because it mirrors the act of learning and discovery. As recipients turned each page, they uncovered the product's story chapter by chapter, creating a deeper level of engagement than a traditional PR mailer could achieve.
My goal was to make the recipient an active participant in the story. Each layer of the experience revealed new information, building anticipation before ultimately unveiling the product itself. By borrowing familiar cues from storybooks, the experience encouraged exploration while communicating Goodal's commitment to ingredient quality, transparency, and product efficacy in a way that felt memorable, educational, and emotionally engaging.
I led the project from concept development through production, overseeing the creative narrative, structural design, graphic direction, manufacturing, and final execution. Every element was designed to support the storytelling experience, transforming packaging from a delivery vehicle into a communication tool that immersed recipients in the brand's world.
